The Atomic Testing Museum portrays world history through varied representations of the story of the Nevada Test Site and its programs. Not-to-be-missed side trip away from the Attractions in Las Vegas.   The Atomic Testing Museum is perfect Attractions for all ages, although little kids might be.

The museum features many not seen before, first-person narratives, large iconic artifacts, environmental re-creations, theatrical devices, and interactive elements for personal exploration. It also presents multiple viewpoints expressed in multimedia presentations and stunning graphics.

Founded in 1998 to preserve the legacy of the Nevada Test Site, the museum's parent organization, Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation was founded with a mission to document and interpret the unique history associated with 50+ years of nuclear weapons research and testing conducted at the Test Site.

The Atomic Testing Museum is located at 755 East Flamingo Rd. in Las Vegas, Nevada. The museum is only minutes from the Las Vegas strip, located just East of Paradise Road.

The Atomic Testing Museum is perfect for all ages, although little kids might be scared by the Ground Zero theatre.  This is what a museum should be -- filled with fun (and properly functioning) interactive displays that your family will love.

Kids will love the well designed interactive and educational touch screen displays.  In particular, they'll love "gearing up" - dressing in virtual safety gear and then dropping 52 stories underground (virtually) to a "test chamber."  There they must put pieces together, return to the surface control room, and detonate their newly-made explosive.  Display comes complete with countdown and a 'start' button.

Buy a vintage postcard in the store and mail it to yourself as a souvenir. Take a picture of your spouse with a cardboard stand-up of Miss Atomic Bomb.

Buy an historical copy of a letter written by the late Albert Einstein dated 1939, in which he lauds the increasing importance of uranium, in particular, to the making of bombs.
